Huawei Ascend P6 is hogging the limelight across the world. The handset and others from the company are now bringing the best part of the Chinese smartphone manufacturers to the world. They are showcasing to the world that when Chinese companies can manage to create the best smartphones for others like Apple’s iPhones why they cannot do it for themselves. To be true Huawei is a huge company with billions of dollars in profit and has got a large chunk of the Chinese smartphone market. Now the company is trying to attract the attention of the world towards its top class handsets.
Though the company has launched several smartphones in the world market during the last two years, the latest handset Ascend P6 is attracting unusually high media attention. To be true, so far they have not been taken seriously. But now things are certainly going to change with the launch of the latest handset from the Chinese company.
Many smartphone fans have always wanted to see their handsets become further slim. And Huawei Ascend P6 is unbelievably thin despite having everything that other top handsets come with. Ascend P6 is the world’s slimmest Smartphone. The latest high-end Smartphone called Ascend P6 is certainly the slimmest till date with mere 6.18mm thickness and 120 g weight. With a rounded bottom and a metal chassis, the Huawei Ascend P6 is quite comfortable to hold. According to some of the experts, the reason why Huawei jumped from its previously launched Ascend P2 to P6 in such a short duration was to steal the limelight from Apple iPhone 5 by introducing a phone similar in looks and feel to the Cupertino based company.
The handset is not just thin, but among the best handsets available in the market and is sure to attract a large number of buyers. The device that is also being considered a threat to the rivals Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One comes packed with the an array of “innovative features” including a powerful 5MP front-facing camera and a redesigned user interface. Huawei has customized Android in a manner that no other manufacturer has till date, except for HTC. Possessing the latest version of what Huawei terms as the Emotion UI, the P6 sits halfway between Android and iOS. Though the widgets are very much present, the company has done away with the difference between homescreens and the app tray and instead the apps just sit on the homescreens itself much like the iPhone. Also, it has updated features like Huawei’s Me Widget, MagicTouch, SmartReading and Airshare, which allows users to easily share the documents.
When it comes to specifications, its extremely thin body contains everything great in it. P6 flaunts a 4.7-inch full-HD Gorilla Glass screen having 720×1,280 resolution. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and possesses a 2GB RAM and 8GB of on-board storage, which can be increased further by using a microSD card. Other features on the device are an 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor BSI camera and F2.0 aperture. It also comes with a 5-megapixel from camera that is loaded with what’s known as ‘Beauty Shot’ mode for taking self portraits. Huawei’s suggests that the feature can make faces look ‘ten years younger’. The device is powered by a 2,000mAh battery which is smaller than the P2′s 2,420mAh battery. In its first phase, Ascend P6 that will go on sale in China beginning this month would soon be joined by the European markets in the second phase and subsequent markets in the last phase.
The Chinese smartphone company is pinning a lot of hopes around the latest handset. Speaking about the device, which unlike P2 does not have any 4G capability, Richard Yu, Chief Executive Officer, Huawei Consumer Business Group, said: “‘The Huawei Ascend P6 is a star among smartphones with its industry-leading design, high-quality camera, and intuitive user interface, Huawei’s proprietary Emotion UI. Building on the success of our Ascend P series of fashion smartphones, the Huawei Ascend P6 provides unsurpassed technology and a design that is simply stunning”. If priced rightly, the handset is expected to do well even in markets outside China.
